Hectic. The only word to describe this time of year as classic car guys. Between local and regional shows, Monterey car week, and daily operations, our schedule is packed! Tomorrow at this time, we will be arriving in San Francisco, CA to begin a grueling but fun week long adventure on the California coast. We are extremely excited to view the record setting auction results that are surely on the horizon. Personally, we think RM Auctions has the best line up this year and arguably the best set of cars for an auction setting. Period. Heavy hitters include the 2012 Pebble Beach Best of Show winning 1928 Mercedes-Benz 680S Torpedo by Saoutchik, a 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster, and 1955 Jaguar D-Type. One of our favorites is RM’s 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing in stunning Graphite Grey over Red leather with original paint, interior, and rudge wheels. During labor day weekend, we will have two cars going through the Auctions America Fall Auburn Sale. A beautifully restored 1957 Mercedes-Benz 190SL Roadster in blue over parchment interior seen here as well as an excellent driver quality 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL found here. The sale of this little 280SL will be broadcasted live on NBC Sports TV! Additionally, Worldwide Auctioneers gave our 1966 Porsche 911 SWB a four page spread for their Auburn sale catalog.
A few weekends ago, our assistant, Diana helped with a wedding that took place on a beautiful lake setting where our 280SL Mercedes was the token “Just Married” vehicle. Zen Photography snapped some excellent photos that we would like to share below!
