Driving slow cars fast...

There is no better way to truly immerse yourself in the vintage driving experience than to take to the track. Barring the addition of some modern safety gear that was not available in period, this is as close as you can get to golden days of auto racing. Our vehicle of choice for vintage racing is our 1959 Austin Healey “Bug Eye” Sprite. The best way to describe the experience behind the wheel is flat out fun. Although it runs out of steam quickly once it crests about 100MPH its an incredible amount of fun on the way there. With its go cart like handling, you can toss this little car into turns and it just sticks. This car has been a race car for most of its life but to be honest its probably for the better as these little sprites make for a fairly cheap and fun way to experience the thrills of vintage racing. We have been up and down the East Coast and have competed in numerous different types of events from hill climbs to vintage grand prix’s and the little “Bug Eye” never fails to put a smile on our face.

Coatesville Grand Prix

2016 marked the initial running of the Coatesville Vintage Grand Prix. Set up in the spirit of Grand Prix races of the early days, the course was run on the public streets of the city of Coatesville, Pennsylvania with nothing but some orange safety fence and hay bails separating the drivers from the spectators, a thrilling situation for both sides. It was a truly awesome event and we cannot wait to compete next year.
